Introducing New Security Features for Online Banking

We are excited to announce that we are enhancing the way you log into online banking and the upcoming new mobile app! Starting on Thursday, October 24th, when you log into your online banking account, you’ll be prompted to enter a 6-digit Two-Factor Authentication code. This code will be sent to the phone number we have on file, either via text message or phone call, ensuring an extra layer of security for your account.

Important: To ensure a smooth transition, it is crucial that you update your phone number with us before this release. This can be done through your settings within online banking.

This 6-digit code will replace the traditional security questions for logging in, providing you with a more secure and streamlined experience. You will not need to enter a one-time passcode every time you log in.

On October 24th, you will also be prompted to answer 5 new security questions. Please remember that these answers are case-sensitive, so ensure you record them accurately. While the one-time passcodes will take precedence, we still need your responses to the security questions for any potential future verification.

With this new feature, you’ll now be able to set up custom alerts via text message! To activate, simply navigate to the Settings in Online Banking, click “Security and Alerts,” and select “Alerts.” You can choose from a variety of alerts, such as when a withdrawal exceeds a certain amount or when your account balance falls below or rises above a set threshold. Stay informed and in control, wherever you are!

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us. On the day of the release, we recommend contacting us via email at memberservice@carolinafcu.org, as this will be the quickest and easiest way to get assistance.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we work to enhance your online and mobile banking experiences!
